Carlos opened Panadería Mendez in 2019 with $8,000 and his grandmother's recipes. By 2023, he had 14 employees and a waiting list for custom cakes.
"I know exactly what it's like to skip meals so your kids don't have to," Carlos told us. His $250/month funds Marcus Johnson's Liberty City operations directly. He gets a quarterly photo and update from Marcus. "That photo is the best invoice I receive all month."
